Our Process
For a stress-free building experience let us take care of the design process, council consents, engineering reports and site set ups.

Initial Enquiry We run through the options for your new home. We can look at options from our standard range or work through your own design. We discuss your specific site requirements and overall budget.
Timeframe to suit your diary
Concept Design Concept Design We can work with you to develop a concept for your new home and help you make key decisions about the exterior, internal layout, kitchens, bathrooms, and key features. There may be a nominal charge for this service if the project does not proceed. We also work with external designers and architects when required for more complex designs.
Indicative timeframe 2-4 weeks
Budget Costs We can give you a budget estimate for your selected design based on your specific requirements. If you wish to take things further, we will then issue a formal quote.
Indicative timeframe 2-5 days
Quotation We provide a quotation for your specific design which clearly sets out what is included and what will be your responsibility. We will also provide a list of any additional options you have requested.
Indicative timeframe 1-3 weeks
Design Stage Once you have decided to proceed we ask you to pay a small deposit and we then organise any engineers reports required and instruct our designers to prepare your drawings for submission to the council.
Indicative timeframe 3-6 weeks
Council Approval As soon as the plans and specifications have been prepared and checked we will submit them to the council for building consent approval - the council then have 28 days to approve.
Indicative timeframe 4 weeks
Pre-production We take the opportunity to go through all the specifications and project-specific requirements. We order the necessary materials and organise our builders and specialist trades. Any client product selections will need to be made within 2 weeks of our pre-production meeting.
Indicative timeframe 2-3 weeks
Production
Excavation and foundations - this can be the trickiest part of the build process dependant on ground conditions, foundation type and weather during construction so please don’t panic if things appear to be going slowly.
Indicative timeframe 1-4 weeks
Above ground build - this is subject to construction type, house size and weather conditions. Larger more complex jobs may take even longer than these estimated times 12-26 weeks
Variations You are able to make changes through the design stage and build stages. However, please note that the earlier the changes are made the lower the cost impact and potential delays will be. Changes made at a late stage can be costly, particularly if on-site alterations are required
Walkthrough Once the roof is on we do a walkthrough with you so that you can see the room layouts and check that everything meets your requirements. This includes a walkthrough with the electrical contractor to go through the electrical layout
Progress updates During the construction phase we will keep you updated on site activities and arrange any site visits for you to view progress on site. Please note that, for health & safety and insurance reasons, client access is by arrangement only
Handover Prior to handover we carry out final inspections, arrange for the house to be cleaned and organise a code of compliance inspection by the council. We will then meet up with you to run through the features of your new home and hand over the keys 1-2 weeks after Code of Compliance
Aftercare Should there be any issues you encounter after completion we will attend to these within the following timeframes
10 Year MB Guarantee Following completion of your home the Registered Master Build guarantee comes into effect. Please read the terms of the guarantee.
